DCR Chamber has been very active in promoting an economic corridor between Dakota County and Rochester in the last several months.  The key players in this initiative have also included Mayo Clinic, the Rochester Chamber of Commerce as well as our partner River Heights Chamber of Commerce.  As a result, the working relationships that we have built between our business communities highlight synergies and economic opportunities that will benefit us all in the future.  We will continue our efforts by promoting a leadership tour on Thursday, November 3, 2011. We have the opportunity to align business interests in Dakota County with business and community leaders in Rochester.  The multi-faceted trip will include a tour of Mayo Clinic, the University of Minnesota, Rochester, and a visit to the STEM Summit, an annual event that engages more than 1500 Rochester area students in hands-on, interactive opportunities to learn about STEM careers, fields of study, and higher education opportunities.  In addition we will hear a review and update of the highspeed  ZipRail project and the event will provide valuable face to face contact with business leaders and influencers in Rochester.

1:30pm           STEM Summit Walk Through

3:00pm           Mayo Clinic Visit

4:00pm           Skyway and Subway Exploration: Visit Shops and Stores in Downtown Rochester

5:00pm           Dinner and Entertainment: Remarks by local Start Up Business Success Story, Wade Beavers of Do DoApps

7:15pm           Depart for South Metro
