Work Schedule: M-F   7:00am - 4:00pm   or 7:30am – 4:30pm                       

Position Summary:
Seeking a purchasing coordinator to support a Painting and Restoration contractor in Eagan, MN.  The position supports and helps to optimize the work of its field teams. Streamline operations to efficiently get work done at our customer locations. This requires the ability to plan, prepare, direct or coordinate purchasing materials, equipment, and services.  Extensively interact with suppliers to maintain pricing and delivery schedule.  Research and evaluate best supplier based on set criteria.  Act as the liaison between company and suppliers.  Design and maintain vendor reports. Communicate with the field and operations team after hours when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must naturally act with a high sense of urgency.
  • Highly self-structured; independent, able to work in a fast pace environment with little/no direct supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.  Accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Understand construction environment and the urgency that surrounds finding, renting or purchasing materials or equipment and coordinating on time deliveries.
  • Ability to work well with peers in a team environment.
  • Strong sourcing skills.
  • Must be willing to negotiate with vendors to drive down or maintain current costs.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Must have basic computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite, Outlook and the Internet.
  • Must be available during the evenings and weekends to take calls from the field; or at a minimum communicate with the team when not in the office.
  • Minimum 1+ year purchasing, supply chain management or related experience.
