Program Speakers
Women in Leadership
Speaker: Gina Soleil
As women in leadership, every day we are faced with a difficult choice. Do we "fake it until me make it" in order to keep up with gender differences and difficult cultures? Or do we lead from a place of integrity, truth and authenticity-leadership attributes that take not only courage, but vulnerability and strength. In this inspirational presentation, Gina Soleil becomes an open book as she shares her personal journey of suffering and triumph; showing us that it’s only in our moments of authenticity and vulnerability that we are fueled to reach our greatest leadership potential and create powerful businesses that are good for people, profits and our world.
Gina Soleil, specializes in empowering women at work and in life. For nearly two decades, she has been leading teams through change in Fortune 500 and 1000 companies. Today, she is a published author, speaker, coach, energy practitioner, artist and business owner.
Women Leading in Male Dominated Industries
It’s 2016 and women around the globe are still working toward equality with men in the workplace. While progress has been made, we have a long way to go before women can thrive in male dominated industries without a fight. Working toward that goal will require lots of small steps to be made every day by women, as well as men. The “glass-ceiling breakers” on our panel will share their roads to success and their advice on how women can continue to break barriers. These exceptional women are leaders in media, real estate, brewing and printing, all very male dominated industries. At least they don’t have to wait in line to use the bathroom!
Moderator: Vineeta Sawkar is a 5-time Emmy award winning journalist who spent 23 years in television news as a reporter and anchor. She is now with the Star Tribune as the news video content editor/reporter.
Panelists: Danielle Anselment, Patrol Sargeant, City of Eagan; Jean Kane, CEO, Welsh & Colliers International; Kelly Larson, CFO, Summit Brewing Co.; and Lana Siewert-Olson, President, Ideal Printers
Leading With Yes: How to Empower the Improviser in You
Speaker: Jenni Lilledahl
Jenni has been improvising both on stage and in life for the past 25 years, and will share the secrets of how each of us can access our own improvisational mindset to energize our authentic selves. Her presentation is thought-provoking, entertaining and will be an uplifting way to end our day.
Jenni Lilledahl is co-owner (with husband John Sweeney) of the nation’s longest running comedy theatre, Minnesota’s own Brave New Workshop, founded by Dudley Riggs. Jenni has held many roles as a business owner since 1997, and currently serves as executive director of the BNW’s school, the BNW Student Union. Considered a ‘founding mother’ of modern improvisation study in Minnesota, Jenni has endeavored the past 20+ years to bring the mindset and tools of improvisation to as many people as possible. Outside of the BNW, the hallmark of Jenni’s community involvement is her work as co-founder of Gilda’s Club Twin Cities, a cancer support organization that opened in 2014.
