The event will offer new and modern ?Hangul? (Korean Alphabet) penmanship emerged as a pure art form, used in design or more commercial in nature, normally used for Korean movies and K-drama titles. It will be Korean cultural event where people can interact with Korea rather than passively taking information in and one of the largest Korean cultural events in the state of Minnesota celebrated annually. The lecture and demonstration will be marked by an outstanding calligraphy artist Park, Byoung Chul who has devoted his life to Korean calligraphy, showing the participants of the event the art of works with special brushes on Korea paper, ?Hanji?. The participants will also enjoy while the movement of the brush, every single stroke by writing their own name in Korean with various styles of calligraphy exploring amazing the range of expression that Korean alphabet and design meets. The event which is kindly hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago will be run in partnership with the University of Minnesota. The evening will commence with a healthy Korean foods reception from 5:15pm to 6:30pm with ample time being given for Q&A and discussion during the formal proceedings. The exhibition of featuring more than 30 artistic works by master artist calligrapher, Park Byoung Chul will be there.
