Legislative Breakfast Series- Minnesota's Minimum Wage: How Much is Enough?

Join us for December’s Legislative Breakfast:  “Minnesota’s Minimum Wage:  How Much is Enough?”  on Friday, December 20th from 7:30am - 9:00am at the Commons on Marice (1380 Marice Drive, Eagan).
 
During the last legislative session, several proposals were made to raise the state’s minimum wage of $6.15 per hour. The DFL- sponsored bill would give Minnesota the highest state-mandated minimum wage in the nation.  The House bill (HF92) set an increase of more than 50% from $6.15 to $9.50 per hour, with annual indexing for inflation; while the Senate offered a proposal to increase the minimum wage to $7.75 per hour.  During the  upcoming session, debate will continue and compromise will likely become law.  Take this opportunity to learn more about the proposed increase in the minimum wage and tell us how it may affect your business’ future hiring process and bottom line.

The Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce introduces the 2013-2014 Legislative Breakfast Series. In preparation of the upcoming legislative session, the Chamber offers real-time information and resources on a number of issues important to your business. These breakfasts are designed for business community members to hear first-hand from lawmakers and industry experts on how legislation within all levels of government will affect their businesses' bottom line, job creation, growth and expansion. Members can also communicate their concerns, comments and questions.
