Community Action Council After Hours Ribbon Cutting & Open House
Community Action Council, known for their long history of community service and engagement, has opened a new location in Burnsville. While the site operates as the Community Action Council administrative office, it was designed primarily to be a community gathering space for volunteers, families and the community at large. The new location offers multi-purpose conference rooms, intimate meeting spaces and an openly accessible kitchen. The site was purposefully designed to be used outside of CAC business hours. "This is a true community space." sysas Mary Ajax, CAC President and CEO, "Our community has much to offer, rich with ideas and talents. This space will help bring these to life."
The Burnsville site also furthers CAC's efforts to help the community view social need and their reponse differently. The space provides a constructive setting for convening community members, facilitating meaningful discussions, and problem solving at a community level.
The site, located on Highway 13 and Portland across from the Burnsville Senior High School, will provide better access for community members from the greater metro area. Along with the administrative office, several CAC services will be housed at the new location. Volunteers will provide support services and operate a food pantry.
Community members are invited to come and enjoy the space at an After Hours Ribbon Cutting & Open House on March 5 with the Dakota County Regional Chamber and the Burnsville Chamber.
