DESCRIPTION:The womEn's circle luncheon will be held on Thursday\, June 18th\, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This ongoing monthly series requires membership credentials within womEn's circle and is designed for women to develop leadership skills\, build business connections\, gain professional and personal skills and be energized\, educated and empowered. To find out more about womEn's circle\, please click here.\n\nThis month's speaker will be Sharon Sayles Belton\, Vice President of Community Relations and Government Affairs at Thomson Reuters. In 1994\, Sharon Sayles Belton was elected the first female and African American mayor of Minneapolis\, Minnesota's largest city. This was no small feat given the time and history of elected officials in Minnesota. During her time in office\, she achieved national recognition as an expert on public/private partnerships in public safety\, neighborhood revitalization and economic development. She served on the Minneapolis City Council for 10 years (1984-1994) and was council president from 1990-1994. \n\n \n\nPrior to joining Thomson Reuters\, Sayles Belton served as director of Community Relations and Corporate Philanthropy at GMAC Financial Services. She managed charitable contributions\, community involvement and diversity initiatives. While at GMAC\, Sayles Belton led efforts to stem the mortgage foreclosure crisis and created partnerships in several major cities to help distressed homeowners. \n\n\n\n\n\nLearn how Sharon built coalitions\, dispelled myths and opened doors for many other women.\n\nAbout the series:\n\nEach womEn's circle will be on the third Thursday of each month except November. There will be five morning meetings and three lunch meetings.  Each meeting will have time for networking and a speaker presentation that will be on a professional topic.\n\nThe annual associate fee is $150.00 which includes all eight meetings.  In addition there will be two optional social events to be held after hours\, that will be an additional fee. You may attend as a guest one time for a fee of $25.
