DESCRIPTION:Workforce development is the number one issue facing businesses today and a well-prepared workforce is vital to Minnesota's economy. However\, employers continue to face challenges finding skilled workers due to changing demographics and skills gaps in the labor market. The Chamber's workforce development efforts focus on legislative and private-sector solutions to address both the immediate workforce need for a greater supply of skilled workers as well as improve the overall strength of the education-to-workforce pipeline.\n\n\n\nJoin us in April to hear from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Chancellor Steve Rosenstone.  Chancellor Rosenstone is the chief executive officer of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. He is responsible for providing academic leadership to the system's 31 colleges and universities\, ensuring effective and efficient management and operation of the system\, carrying out board policies\, recommending operating and capital budgets to the board\, and planning for the current and long-term educational needs of Minnesota.\n\n\nWhat's your top issue challenging the growth and expansion of your business?  Personal Income Taxes?  Increased  Business Regulations? Health Care Costs Rising?  Transportation? Education and Skilled Workforce?\n\n \n\nYour Chamber offers real-time information and resources on a number of issues important to your business through Legislative Breakfast Series.  The breakfasts are designed for business community members to hear first-hand from lawmakers and industry experts on how legislation within all levels of government affect their businesses' bottom line\, job creation\, growth and expansion.  Members can also communicate their concerns\, comments and questions. \n\n \n\nThe Series offers members a total nine programs held on the first Friday of each month\, October 2014 through June 2015 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at The Commons on Marice in Eagan.  Fees are $25 per event or purchase a Series pass for $200 and save.
