SUMMARY:Government Affairs Committee May 2010
DESCRIPTION:*Please note permanent change in date. The Government Affairs Committee will now be held on the SECOND Friday of the month due to staff scheduling conflict. We will be joined by Kathy Schmidlkofer\, Vice President General Mills\, Itasca Job Growth Initiative. Kathy will present to businesses in Dakota County the compelling reasons why the Twin Cities Region would benefit from a regional approach to Economic Development\n"The Twin Cities have experienced robust growth over the past 30 years. We have a strong private sector\, however current conditions give us cause for concern. Employment growth has slowed relative to the rest of the U.S. Our business reputation have faltered and public funding is in crisis. The Twin Cities has one of the most challenging business environments in the U.S. and NO coordinated regional economic development effort. We will discuss why the Twin Cities should develop strategies to retain and grow existing businesses\, create new businesses and attract external businesses." ItascaProject\, Job Growth Initiative April 2010. RSVP to rbatulis@dcrchamber.com.
