The womEn's circle: The Self-Defeating Habits of Otherwise Brilliant People

The womEn's circle will be held on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 from 8-9 a.m. 7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (Check in starts at 7:45 a.m. program will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.) at Valleywood Golf Course in Apple Valley. This ongoing monthly series requires membership credentials within womEn's circle and is designed for women to develop leadership skills, build business connections, gain professional and personal skills and be energized, educated and empowered. December's speaker will be Julie Sampson, Consultant and Certified Trainer at Thera Rising, Inc.Julie has over 18 years of experience in Corporate Training and coaching individuals, teams, and executives for excellence in leadership development.  Julie’s work with TheraRising was drawn from a desire to see organizations build stronger cultures of cohesiveness and master the techniques necessary to manage destructive forms of workplace conflict.  These techniques have even been taught across the US, South Africa, Finland and most recently in the UK. TheraRising’s strategies have been featured in dozens of publications including The New York Times, HR Magazine, Harvard Management Update, Oprah Magazine, and MSNBC.

Groups, teams and organizations can flourish when people develop strong trust and can better manage common workplace frustrations, disappointments, and disagreements. Managing these issues takes skill and strategy.  Conflict and mistrust left unattended to or not managed well have huge impacts on culture and employee productivity.  Through thousands of seemingly insignificant interactions, teams unknowingly create environments that are either cohesive or adversarial.  In this session, these specific behaviors, and their far-reaching consequences, become stunningly clear. You will learn why negative assumptions pick up momentum and spread, how to short-circuit destructive disagreement, and eliminate reactions that trigger blame.

About the series:
Each womEn’s circle will be on the third Thursday of each month except November. There will be five morning meetings and three lunch meetings.  Each meeting will have time for networking and a speaker presentation that will be on a professional topic.
The annual associate fee is $150.00 which includes all eight meetings.  In addition there will be two optional social events to be held after hours, that will be an additional fee. You may attend as a guest one time for a fee of $25. Please email Chelsea Johnson to attend as a guest or to submit your application for womEn's circle Membership.
