Maureen Shaver is a public affairs professional with over 25 years of experience in the public and private sector. She is currently the principal of Shaver Public Affairs, a public affairs practice specializing in legislative strategy, lobbying, public affairs consulting and political commentary. She has lobbied at the Minnesota legislature and has been active in the campaigns of many Republican officeholders and been involved in organizations that encourage participation of women in the political process. She has also been a political commentator and political analyst for WCCO radio, Minnesota Public Television and Minnesota Public Radio.
In 2008, Todd Rapp became a partner in the firm, Himle Horner. Todd’s corporate experience in issues management, organizational strategy and crisis communications provide significant strategic value for clients with legislative, regulatory and public communications needs. Additionally, you will find him as a guest commentator on state and national public affairs for Minnesota Public Radio. Previously, Todd served as Director of Minnesota Government Affairs for Xcel Energy and as Majority Leader Phil Carruthers’ chief political advisor for four legislative sessions. He also worked as Campaign Director for Majority Leader Roger Moe and the Senate Majority Caucus in 1996, and as Political Director for the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party from 1990-93.

The breakfasts are designed for business community members to hear first-hand from lawmakers and industry experts on how legislation within all levels of government affect their businesses’ bottom line, job creation, growth and expansion. Members can also communicate their concerns, comments and questions.
The Series offers members a total of eight programs held on the first Friday of each month, November 2015 through June 2016 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at The Commons on Marice in Eagan. Fees are $25 per event or purchase a Series pass for $160 and save. Registration and networking begins at 7:30 a.m. with a breakfast buffet and the program begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.
